Spring 2014 Grades

Today I got my grades for Spring semester!
A+ in all my classes.
A GPA of 4.5

Whaaat.

I am honestly surprised and a bit confused since I recall doing average in my mid-terms for my Advertising Management class and Internet Communication. I don't think I did particularly well for my Internet Communications finals either since I pretty much just skimmed through my notes for revision, and faced some difficulty during the exam.
So yes, I am quite reluctant to believe that I got 'full marks' on all of my second semester's classes. Especially when I've been more laidback for Spring as opposed to Fall. I find it kind of odd, and maybe a bit offensive, to be placed in the same group as those who did achieve full marks for their mid-terms. I am not trying to be humble here, just merely confused at how marking works for English taught classes. You can't just give me full marks when I clearly answered a handful of questions wrong in my mid-terms and finals. Right..?

My Fall semester marks seemed far more realistic.

Fall 2013 Grades

Korean is understandle for  both semesters I guess since it is relatively (competitively marked). Although Korean class was tougher in the Spring semester, the exams themselves weren't too difficult. I guess I got placed in the top 3 or 5 in the class or something.

In general, it would be helpful if the professors released individual reports for students so we get some feedback on what we did well, what we lacked, and their thoughts on our work and such - like my home university.
Heck, I want my marks and comments for all the evaluated criterias. Even for Fall I didn't know how well I did for finals. I only knew how much I got from mid-terms, and that's it. Same for Spring.

However, I do recall getting comments/remarks from 2 of my professors in the Fall semester.
My New Media professor wrote short comments on our weekly assignment papers, sometimes pushing us to explain more, or consider something else as well. Meanwhile, the Media and Social Change professor provided a short paragraph worth of feedback on our mid-term.

So overall, I guess detailed feedback is generally not common in KU's media department. Neither is knowing how well you did for finals and other areas of assessed criteria.
